UDHAMPUR: National level veteran player, Raj Guru along with the team expressed gratitude to Dr. Jitindra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region and PMO for sanctioning an exclusive amount of Rs. 10 crore for completion of outdoor Sports Stadium Udhampur as well as other indoor sports Hall.
He also appreciated the efforts made by Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Udhampur, who represented and processed the case in the Centre by further got recommended the case through Secretary to J&K Govt. As a result of which long pending demand of youth and sports persons of Udhampur is fulfilled.
“This will not only provide the sports facilities for youth but also channelise the energy of youth to right direction and save them from drug menace,” he said and suggested that the outdoor stadium may also be kept for different discipline of games.
He further expressed that separate stadium purely for cricket may also be recommended and constructed at Udhampur at the pattern of Mohalli (Chandigarh) and Dharamsala (HP) Stadium where international level matches could be played.
He further appealed to Dr. Jatindra Singh for taking speedy action for cleansing of Holy Devika Udhampur where thousands of people from remote area came for Holy dips on different occasion.
