Narendra Modi visited many countries to garner support for India’s membership to the NSG, but all was in vain. He failed to even ensure the support of Brazil and South Africa with whom we share a good relationship in BRICS and IBSA. It was a diplomatic failure of Modi who has visited about 40 countries during his two-year tenure. This failure would have a cascading effect as and when India seeks support for membership to the UN Security Council.
