Separate rail plan to help multi-sectoral growth: BJP

JAMMU: Hailing the Central Government and Railway Minister for assuring separate plan for J and K in railway sector, State BJP said that multi-sectoral growth of Jammu and Kashmir State is the main focus for which both Central and State Governments are working hard. In a press statement issued here on Sunday, BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan said that massive central package coupled with separate railway plan in near future and government’s strong will to work for equitable development are going to transform J and K State into a model state like never before. It will not only expand railways but also boost tourism and economy of the State.
While hailing Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu for announcing that State would soon get separate plan in railway sector by introducing new rails and also undertaking the work on other projects like Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch and Billawar-Bani-Bhaderwah, he said that this shows the seriousness of Narendra Modi Govt towards the development of Jammu and Kashmir as development is also a solution of the problems of the people.
Rattan also hailed laying of foundation stones of Executive Lounge, escalators, lifts and mechanized laundry and inauguration of multiplex complex at Jammu Tawi Railway Station besides he complimented Railway Minister for his announcement for new trains between Jammu and Haridwar and superfast train between Jammu and Ajmer Sharief in view of the religious pilgrimage. He also welcomed minister’s announcement regarding satellite terminal, construction of ROBs through full-fledged central funding. Moreover, he also welcomed minister’s on-the-spot instructions for haltage of the Jammu-Udhampur DMU at Pounthal and Kishenpur in Nagrota and running of an additional DMU on the route.
“Within a short span of time of coming to power, both State and Central Govt plugged all loopholes and ended corrupt practices, brought an order into the functioning in government departments, undertook new projects, initiated all stalled or abandoned projects, which are now being periodically monitored and most importantly involved people into various institutions to make them more vibrant”, he maintained.
