RAMBAN Police on Wednesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid at Banihal.
According to a report, on specific information, a police party led by SHO Banihal Inspr Tariq Naik, under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohd Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar, laid a Naka at Old Toll post Banihal on NHW 44.
During checking, an Auto Tata Magic bearing registration No.JK14A 7426 was signaled to stop. On which the driver of the vehicle tried to escape by accelerating vehicle but police party chased them at a distance and stopped them.
During checking, three bovines were found loaded in the vehicle in a cruel manner. On this, driver of the vehicle namely Mushtaq Ahmed Khan son of Fatta Khan resident of Zihaal Banihal was arrested and a case under FIR No. 66/2015 section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act 4was registered against him at Police Station Banihal.
