JAMMU: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena led by its President Ashok Gupta took out a procession in Jammu City against the statement made by the Health Minister Lal Singh for removing ban on sex determination test which has been banned in India since 1994.
Citing that Narendra Modi has launched a Beti Bachao, Beti Padao campaign aiming at generating awareness and improving the efficiency of welfare services meant for women, Ashok asked, “how the Health Minister of BJP is working against the wishes of the PM?”
Health Minister Lal Singh in a public meeting at Basohli has made a statement on sex determination test.
Gupta said that since the ban on this test in India in 1994, there has been drastic improvement in the female ratio.
Gupta demanded that the State BJP unit must clear its stand over the issue.
Meanwhile, the Women Wing of Shiv Sena has demanded an apology over the issue from the Health Minister. Its representative has said that if the minister refuses to tender apology they will protest in front of his residence.
Others who joined the protest include Sukhdev, Bodh Raj, Tony, Ashish, Geeta, Raj Kumar and Santosh.
