Plea seeks security to High Court Judges

JAMMU: In the much publicised Public Interest Litigation regarding security of High Court and others, on Friday an application was filed by Advocate Jaspinder Singh seeking direction to police authorities to restore the security of High Court Judges.
A Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice M.M Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing Advocate Ajay Sharma appearing for the applicant observed that this is an application highlighting the withdrawal of the personnel of security guards on 31st December, 2014, who were deputed at the houses of the retired High Court Judges and issued notice to State which was accepted by Senior AAG Gagan Baostra.
Division Bench further observed that the security/guards present at the residential houses of retired High Court Judges shall continue as they were on or before 31st December, 2014. The statement is taken on record and the same be strictly adhere to.
Division Bench further directed that comprehensive reply may be filed bringing on record the policy of the State and the objective criteria to make assessment of threat perceptions. The needful shall be done a week before the adjourned date. JNF
