Over 9,000 take NET at Jammu University

JAMMU: Of the 11,160 candidates enrolled (including 36 visually challenged) 9,067 appeared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by Jammu University on Sunday.
The visually challenged candidates were provided additional Braille sheet along with a writer for the test, according to Prof. Naresh Padha who acted as coordinator, a team from Central Board of School Education (CBSE) was also present during the conduct of test.
A total number of 14 centers for 55 subjects were setup for the conduct of the test. Out of which six centers were constituted within the campus and eight in the Degree Colleges/Higher Secondary Schools.
Vice Chancellor, Prof R.D Sharma along with Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor paid visit to various centres of examination within and outside university campus constituted for conduct of NET and said that the examinations were being conducted smoothly.
Prof Sharma took rounds of the places where the examinations were held, interacted with observers and supervisory staff.
It is pertinent to mention here that the University of Jammu is one of the Coordinating Institution in Jammu province for the conduct of the NET for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges.
