Dogra Higher Secondary School holds Annual Sports Meet

JAMMU: Former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha, J and K, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak stressed that the games and sports must be an integral part and parcel of the education/co-curricular activities to boost the physical standard and mental ability of the students.
Charak as the Chief Guest on Friday inaugurated the Annual Sports Meet, organised by Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar at Dogra Ground, Gandhi Nagar, here on Friday.
The Chief Guest also appreciated the efforts made by the Management and Staff of the institution.
Earlier, the Sports Meet was started by letting off balloons in the air by the Chief Guest. The games were started with Mass Drill. A cultural programme was also presented by the students.
President Managing Committee, Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Surekha Charak and Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Samar Dev Singh Charak were the Special Guests on the occasion.
Principal, Dogra Higher Secondary School, Davinder Kour welcomed the guests and the parents of the students.
The students who brought laurel for their school in different events at national, State and district Level were also honoured by the Chief Guest.
Samar Dev Singh Charak threw light on how the school progressed over the years since its inception.
The medals were given amongst the best adjudged students in different events by Surekha Charak, President MC, DHSS.
Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Managing Director, Dogra Higher Secondary School, praised the efforts put in by the principal, staff, students and parents in making this event a grand success.
