RAMBAN: Semifinals position has been cleared with Parnote Club, Sadabahar Club, Kohitoor Club and Lovely Club entering the last four stages in the Ramban District Volleyball Championship being organized by Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, here on Thursday. The Championship is sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
A total of 11 teams are participating in the Championship, which is being played on knockout basis.
Manjit Singh, Incharge Principal Government Higher Secondary School Ramban was the Chief Guest on the occasion, who inaugurated the championship. He appreciated the efforts of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir for promoting the game in the remote areas.
Others present on the occasion were Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer, R.C Sharma Treasurer, Mohd Tariq Joint Secretary and Akber Ali Office Secretary of Volleyball Association of J&K and Mujahid Ahmad ZPEO incharge.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sartaj Bali, Ayaz Bali and Arshaid Ahmed.
Today’s results: Parnote Club beat Tiger Club Kanga by 2-0 (29-27, 25-21); Sadabahar Club Bt Chanrog Club by 2-0 (25-19, 25-14); Kohitoor Club beat Tiger Club Bathni 2-1 (20-25, 25-17, 15-11); Lovely Club beat Malik Club by 2-1 (21-25, 25-15, 15-3); Sadabahar Club beat Nivia Sports Club by 2-0 (25-15, 25-21); Kohitoor Club beat Neel Strikers Club by 2-0 (25-21, 32-30); Lovely Club beat Chanderkote Club by 2-0 (25-23, 27-25).
Tomorrow’s Fixtures: Parnote Club to face Sadabahar Club in first semifinal and Kohitoor Club to meet Lovely Club in second semifinal. The final match will also be played.
