Sports meet on National Sports Day at Sprawling Buds
JAMMU: Sprawling Buds School Bantalab organised sports meet, involving young students in various activities, to pay tributes to hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand on National Sports Day, here on Friday.
The day-long sports activities commenced with fun races which included lemon and spoon race, gunny bag race and three-leg race. These events were followed by the balloon-filling competition. An inter-house tug of war competition was also held for junior and senior students groups.
In today’s special event, Secretary Tawi Trekkers and veteran mountaineer of the State, Ram Khajuria was Chief Guest. While addressing the gathering, Khajuria briefed the students on the importance of the Sports Day. He dwelt at length on the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand on whose birthday the National Sports Day is celebrated all over the country.
In interesting tug of war event, Peace House emerged winner. Later, prizes were given away to those students who excelled in the sports and related activities.
