Dear Editor,
The reservation policy was introduced in India with the noble purpose of helping the disadvantaged sections of society and although having various flaws it has greatly helped in reforming socio economic structure of society. But continuing the old policy and extending the freebies to those who are economically well and who have already taken its benefits have done a great harm and requires urgent review. Reservation is needed for socially and economically weaker sections of society to take them along in the process of development but those who are economically well and already taken the benefits of reservation should be excluded. Recently the ugly face of reservation politics was seen in Haryana which led to loss of property and unnecessary hardships to public. The reservation policy if not reviewed will prove dangerous to peace and progress of our society and will lead to furher clashes among various sections in future.There had arisen the need to review it without further delay.
