STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: In this modern era, every person is dealing with stress and looking forward to acquiring skills to handle the Stress-related issues efficiently. Prableen Kour, a student of Grade XII Commerce conducted the morning assembly on the topic Stress management.
With the new day dawns upon us new strength, new thoughts and endless possibilities! For enlightening the audience and brightening up the morning of the attendees during the Morning Assembly proceedings, Anupam Sharma from Grade XII Commerce presented a brilliant thought of the day: “When you find yourself stressed, ask yourself a question, will this matter in 5 years from now? If yes, then do something about the situation. If No, then let it go”.
Learning never stops and knowledge never ends, hence putting more light on the topic Apoorvi Gupta from the same class was invited. “First of all what is stress? Stress is what you feel when you have to handle more than you are used to. It makes your heart to speed up, makes you breathe faster and gives you a burst of energy. One must know how to act calm in such situation. She shared some time-tested strategies to overcome the challenges of stress:
“Identify the source of stress. Let’s observe our habits, our attitude, our thought processing and people with whom we interact and overlook how these behaviors contribute to our stress and let us try to avoid them”, she shared.
“Exercise is one of the biggest stress reliever, whenever you feel stressed, just get up, play some music and start exercising. It releases endorphins that make you feel good”, she added.
“Let’s give vent to our feelings. We all have in our lives a few friends with whom we can share anything. So, let’s talk, laugh, cry or vent out our pant up emotions with any of those friends and that will certainly make us feel relaxed”, she further added.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore appreciated students for choosing a relevant topic and equipping the audience with some important tips. “Always remember that every individual responds to such sensory experiences in different ways. Everyone has got his/her own ways to cope up with stress. You have to find out which one works best for you and makes you happy. Stress is the trash of modern life – we all generate it, but if you don’t dispose it off properly, it will pile up and make the inner peace drained out from your life. The truth is that stress management does not come from the external factors, like, your studies, financial status, friends, health challenges or other circumstances; rather it comes from your thoughts about your circumstances”.
He lauded teachers for being the counselors of students and for extending their best possible support to children during the moments of crises. “The real education lies in grooming children as the Future Champs to take on the challenges of life without losing their patience. In fact, Stress helps an individual to focus better and be more positive. Having small amount of stress in life always stimulates an individual to think more critically & creatively. Evolving the Stress-coping mechanism is the key to success”, he summed up.
