KULGAM: District Kulgam Volleyball Championship being organised by Volleyball Association of Kulgam under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir commenced, here on Wednesday.
The championship in which a total number of 20 teams are participating including 12 boys and 8 girls teams, being sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
Today’s results
Boys: Friends Sports Club beat Parvaiz Volleyball Club by 2-1 (25-21, 19- 25, 15-12); Malipora Volleyball Club beat H S Akhran by 2-0.
Earlier, the championship was declared open by the Chief Guest, Showkat Ahmad Rather, ADDC Kulgam in presence of Javid Ahmad Tak, Padamshri Awardee Rafiq Ahmad Wani, Ab Ahad Shah and Nilofer Habib Secretary Volleyball Association Kulgam.
Other prominent personalities present were Mohd Hussan Headmaster H S Akhran, A R Ahanger besides officials namely Showkat Ahmad, Suhail Rehman and Bilal Ahmad Reshi.
