JAMMU: The workers of Dogra Front under the leadership of its President Ashok Gupta on Sunday protested against the Pathankot Air base Terror attack in Punjab.
Scores of Dogra Front activists led by Ashok Gupta assembled at Rani Park and burnt the effigies of the militants amidst anti-Pak slogans.
“The terror attack which took place yesterday is mainly a blockage or hindrance of the talks being carried out in both the countries,” Dogra said adding that the attack was not unexpected and fits a pattern of provocation from sections across the border unhappy with any bilateral progress towards peace between both the neighbouring countries.
Any time there has been a hint of seriousness in both India and Pakistan to work towards a rapprochement, he said, sections that stand to lose from this have tried to provoke tensions.
This terror attack is meant to derail the peace attempt and follows the same pattern when former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee visited Pakistan to start peace talks between both the countries, he said. In order to insulate the bilateral peace, he asked, Pakistan must eliminate or finish these unwanted organisations like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayiba to build on the goodwill created with the recent talks and to eradicate the menace of terrorism afflicting from the South East Asia.
“Terrorist leaders like Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Masood Azhar should be locked behind the bars for such acts of injustice in order to insulate the bilateral peace. Such infiltrations will then reach a point of saturation,” he demanded.
“India wants to maintain good and cordial relations with all the neighbouring countries. Such relations can only be build by the sincere efforts of Prime Minister of both the countries especially Pakistan, who have been covering these terrorist groups. Pakistan should come out in the open to condemn such attacks and take action against such terrorist groups,” he mentioned.
The party workers present in the protest were Narayan, Rakesh Samba, Krishna Devi and Raj Kumar.
