REASI: Police on Saturday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing eight bovines and arresting a smuggler at Mahore.
According to a report, a specific information was received at Police Post Dewal that some persons along with bovines are on way from Neoch towards Kashmir via Nikkin Gali on foot without any legal permission and have reached near village Shibrass. On this, a police team from Police Post Dewal led by ASI Abdul Rashid laid a special Naka at Barmidhar Tehsil Mahore and rescued eight bovines from the possession of the accused person. The accused person identified as Gulla Bhat son of Wali Mohd Bhat resident of Dragan Tehsil Damal District Kulgam was arrested and case vide FIR No. 31/2016 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Mahore.
