5 labourers killed in accident

LEH: In a tragic road accident five non-local labourers were killed near Taru Thang, about 20 kms from Leh on Thursday.
According to reports 14 people were travelling in a tipper when it met with an accident near Taru Thang resulting on the spot death of four while another succumbed to injuries at SNM Hospital.
Other injured including driver of the Tipper Vishal Kumar was not in a condition to give statement.
Medical Superintendent Dr. P. Wangchuk said that two have been shifted in ICU considering their critical condition.
As per report Tipper bearing registration No JK-10 7838 was coming towards Leh when it met with the accident. The dead and the injured are believed to be non-local labourers.
Meanwhile, Chief Execu-tive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Dr. Sonam Dawa Lonpo visited the hospital and enquired about the well being of the injured.
He also expressed shock and grief over the deaths of labourers in this shocking incident.
He directed Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Superintendent SNM Hospital Leh and doctors to provide best available medical care to the injured.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh Moses Kunzang also visited the hospital.
