33 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers nabbed

RAJOURI: police on Saturday foiled four bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 33 bovines and arresting two smugglers.
Police in its continuous drive to curb the menace of bovine smuggling rescued 28 bovine animals and also arrested one smuggler during last 24 hours.
As per the details, a party of Police Station Rajouri led by Insp Ajay Singh Chib rescued 11 bovines from clutches of smugglers at Jamola -who were taking these animal towards Kashmir by foot. However, smugglers taking the advantage of darkness manager to escape from spot. In this regard case vide FIR No. 330/2017 under section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act was registered in Police Station Rajouri.
In another alike incident, same police party rescued 13 bovines during wee hours at Badoon. The accused smugglers namely Sajjad and Liaqat fled away while accused Gh Qadir was arrested. A case vide FIR NO.331/2017 under section 188/RPC, 3 PCA Act was registered.
In another incident, a team led by In-Charge Police Post Lam rescued four bovines, however, the accused managed to escape from spot. Police has registered a case vide FIR No. 121/2017 under section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act at Police Post Lam. In Mahore, on specific information, a police team headed by In-Charge Special Police Post Ladh laid a Naka at Changer Nallah Tuksan Tehsil Mahore and rescued five bovines from the possession of Rehmat Ali son of Jaan Mohd resident of village Shikari Tehsil Mahore. The accused person was carrying these bovines without any legal documents and intended to smuggle these bovine animals towards Kashmir. The accused person was arrested and a case vide FIR No.58/2017 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Mahore.
