KATRA: Assistant Regional Transport officer (ARTO), Rajesh Gupta during day long drive against violation of traffic rules in Katra penalised, 30 vehicles plying on different routes in Katra for various traffic violations and collected a fine of Rs. 9,000 from the violators and also seized 10 tape recorders from different vehicles.
The people were educated about the traffic norms and were stressed upon to help in effective implementation of these rules. He also informed the people about their duties while travelling and said that it is the prime duty of the common citizen to raise voice against overloading and use of mobiles. Transport Department also held awareness camp at Katra, Inspector Vikas Shrivats while addressing the participants issued stern warning to the drivers of passenger vehicles to strictly adhere to the traffic rules to avoid any action from the department. He also advised the transporters to appoint the drivers for their vehicles after proper verification.
