JAMMU: The 2nd Ranking Open Skating Championship 2024, hosted by the J&K Roller Sports Association under the patronage of G.S Khurmi, President and organized by the Five Star Skating Club, Jammu, concluded today with an impressive turnout of over 200 participants. Athletes from across Jammu and Kashmir showcased their skills in various disciplines including speed skating, roller hockey, and artistic skating. Jodhamal Public School, Jammu clinched the Top position with maximum number of medals across all the events.
The championship serves as a testament to the burgeoning roller sports community in the region and is poised to be a beacon of athletic excellence. Athletes from all corners of the union territory have converged upon the skating rinks to showcase their prowess and compete for top honors in events spanning speed skating, roller hockey, artistic skating, and more.
Arun Gupta, President, Chamber of Commerce, and Industries gave away the medals as Chief Guest while Suraj Bhan Singh, Manager, Indoor Sports Stadium, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Others who were present in the ceremony included Seema Kharyal, member, JKRSA, Roshan Gupta, Member, JKRSA. With the support of the roller sports community and dedicated organizers, the championship achieved standards in the realm of roller sports in the picturesque landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir.
In the category of Loose Bearing (Sandle Skates), across various age groups for both boys and girls, several participants showcased their talent and clinched medals. In the 5-7 years age group, Viraaj Gandotra and Shreyanshi Mahajan secured one gold each, while Gursangad Sodhi earned a silver. Moving to the 7-9 years age group, Harshdeep Singh claimed a gold medal, with Samiraj Dabgotra securing silver and Saanvit Mahajan taking bronze. Anaysha Gupta secured a gold medal in this category. In the 9-11 years age group, Umang Sharma and Gunvika Gupta bagged gold medals, while Anahita Singh secured silver. Kartik Satti and Gunsaanjh claimed gold medals in the 11-14 years age group, with Karan Kumar and Naiomi earning silver. Aryan Sharma secured gold in the 14-17 years category, while Sumit Singh and Sumit Mehra secured silver and bronze, respectively.
In the category of Quad Jonex Skate, participants in various age groups showcased remarkable performances. Aadriti Sharma secured gold in the 5-7 years age group for girls, while Bhumik Singh and Kamakshi Sharma claimed gold medals in the 7-9 years age group. Divyam Godara and Oriana secured gold medals in the 9-11 years age group. In the 11-14 years age group, Sehrish Singh secured gold, and Netik secured silver. Neeraj claimed gold in the 11-14 years age group, while Puneesh Puri secured gold in the 14-17 years category.
In the category of Quad Professional Skate, participants demonstrated exceptional skills across different age groups. Atharav Saini and Anshika Gupta secured multiple gold medals in the 5-7 years age group. Vivan Gupta and Mysha Kaur claimed gold medals in the 7-9 years age group. Gurtej Singh and Anshika Thakur secured gold medals in the 9-11 years age group. Puneesh Puri and Adhira Kanotra secured gold medals in the 11-14 years age group. Abhinav Bakshi claimed gold in the 14-17 years category.
Lastly, in the category of Toy Inline, participants across various age groups displayed commendable performances. Chahit Singh and Arhaan Singh secured gold medals in the 5-7 years age group. Shivampreet Singh and Parini Gupta secured gold medals in the 9-11 years age group. Gurkirat Singh and Ridham claimed gold medals in the 11-14 years age group. Abhishek Yogi secured gold in the 14-17 years category. Surya Bhaskar Sharma dominated in the Above 17 years category, securing two gold medals.
In the Cadet Boys category, several participants showcased their talents and earned medals. Gurjas Singh, Lavik Gupta, Aayan Sharma, Aahan Sharma, and Vihaan Sharma clinched gold medals, while Rihansh Sharma, Kiaansh, Keyvan Gupta, Atharv Sharma, Abheek, and Shawni secured silver medals. Mohd Oraib, Shiva, Rushank Pargal, Rakshan Sharma, and Adhrit Suri bagged bronze medals. In the Cadet Mix category, Gurjas Singh, Lavik Gupta, Vihaan Sharma, Aayan Sharma, Aaradhya Sanyal, Kanisha Jain, Bhavnoor Kour, Aahan Sharma, and K. Vanishree. N. Verma clinched gold medals, while Riansh Sharma, Aayra, Keyvan Gupta, Atharv Sharma, Arshy, Arkashan, Adhrit Suri, Rushank Pargal, Mohd Oraib, Shiva, Kiaansh, Abheek, Shawni, Trisha Jamwal, and Hazel Suri secured silver and bronze medals. In the Cadet Girls category, Aayra, Arshy, Shawni, Trisha Jamwal, and Hazel Suri clinched gold medals, while Prashasti Sharma, Neyonika Slathia, Aadriti Sharma, Kamakshi Mahajan, and Veeha Sharma secured silver medals.
Moving on to the Sub Junior Boys category, Bhavanya Bhagat, Hridyansh Chib, Tarush Gupta, Rajanya Khajuria, Krishna Sharma, Vihaan Mehra, and Tabid Hussain clinched gold medals, while Kyran Gupta, Zayafat John, Dhruv Sadhotra, Abhay Sharma, Aarav Jandyal, Rakshan Sharma, and Abheer Singh secured silver medals. Namish Gupta, Aarav Dafara, Yatharth Sagoch, Aahan Sharma, and Vihaan Sharma bagged bronze medals. In the Mixed Team Sub Junior category, Bhavanya Bhagat, Kyran Gupta, Tarush Gupta, Abhay Sharma, Krishna Sharma, Vihaan Mehra, Tabid Hussain, Siya Jandyal, Aamya, and Vidyanshi clinched gold medals, while Hridyansh Chib, Rajanya Khajuria, Zayafat John, Dhruv Sadhotra, Aarav Jandyal, Rakshan Sharma, Vanya Raina, Vihaana Dogra, Bhuv Sharma, and Abheer Singh secured silver medals. Namish Gupta, Aarav Dafara, Yatharth Sagoch, Vihaan Sharma, Naveep Kour, Varchasv, K. Vanishree. N. Verma, and Aahan Sharma bagged bronze medals.
In the Junior category, Iszna Sharma, Iyzal Dogra, Vinayak Bhagat, Shreyasm Pargal, Mridul Kohli, Sameer, Vivaan Gupta, and Pranav Daanial Butt clinched gold medals, while Saksham Sharma, Aarush Jain, Serish Abrol, Akshita Sharma, Ayesha Mubeen Chib, Priya Mahajan, and Momin Tahir secured silver medals. In the Senior Men category, Aaryan Gupta, Ankush Gupta, Jatin Sabrawal, Rupinder Paul Singh, Darpan Gagotra, and Jugraj Singh clinched gold medals, while Piyush, Arnav, Shubham, Maheshwar, Deepak, Rahul, Abhinav, Mohit, and Rajesh Anand secured silver medals. Krish Gupta, Arvin, Vikram, Ankush Kohli, Eklavya, Abhay Veer, Raibarinder Singh, Gagan Jamwal, and Umar Sahib Singh bagged bronze medals.
In the Mixed Team Senior category, Rupinder Paul Singh, Darpan Gagotra, Czia Raina, and Ankush Gupta clinched gold medals, while Jugraj Singh (Charlie), Jatin Sabrawal, Aarohi Mahajan, Aaryan Gupta, and Aiza Naz Chib secured silver medals. In the Master Men category, Krish Gupta, Ramnesh Sharma, Ankush Kohli, Atul Sharma, Sanjeev, and Gagan Jamwal clinched gold medals, while Arvin, Vikram, Rai-Barinder Singh, Sunil Pargal, Rajesh Anand, and Paramveer Singh secured silver medals. Additionally, Samaira Gandotra and Yashit Mahajan performed well in the Roller Scooter category.
In the Roller Scooter category, Samaira Gandotra remained winner and Yashit Mahajan runner up.
