JHAJJAR KOTLI: Police on Sunday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 29 bovines and arresting four smugglers.
According to a report, a party of police station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Hillal Azhar during a Nakka intercepted two trucks bearing registration Nos JK03D-0362 and JK19-1325 and rescued 29 bovines loaded in it.
Four smugglers were arrested who were identified as Farooq Ahmed son of Ghulam Hussain resident of Thether Banihal, Mohd Ishaq son of Mohd Haneef resident of Qazigund, Abdul Rasheed son of Abdul Ahad resident of Hakura Anantnag and Mohd Qayum son of Jammal Din resident of Qazigund Anantnag.
A case under FIR No 54/2015 section 188 RPC, 3PCA Act was registered. The operation was conducted under the Supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan and SP Rural Rajiv Pandey under the close supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
