NAGROTA: Police on Wednesday foiled bovine smugglings by rescuing 28 bovines and arresting six smugglers at Nagrota.
According to a report, 28 bovines were rescued by police from Toll Plaza, NHW from Vehicle No. JK05E/4571 and JK02AE/2637 from the clutches of six bovine smugglers namely Gh Nabi son of Abdul Rehman resident of Baramula, Asgar Ahmed son of Muneer Hussain resident of Challa Boniyar Uri, Mohd. Lateef son of Mohd. Yousaf resident of Raipura Jagir, Ab Hamid son of Mohd. Mussa resident of Channi Rakwal, Mehraj Din son of Chandia Kassana resident of Kangan Ganderbal and Jehangir Ahmed son of Nazir Ahmed resident of Dharga Srinagar.
Two case vide FIR No’s 82/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act and 83/2016 under sections 420/188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act was registered and investigation taken up.
