Over 250 students take part in Jodhamal debate

JAMMU: Vox Populi -the biggest debating completion began at Jodhamal Public School on Sunday. Over 250 students from 20 schools from all over the state are taking part with vigour and enthusiasm. Dr. Pankaj Srivastava, the Dean of Student Welfare at Jammu University, who was the Chief Guest, said that this kind of unconventional debates will expand the horizon of the students and teachers equally and appreciated the efforts of Jodhamal School in being the pioneers in the educational revamping at Jammu. The Guest of Honour Pramod Srivastava , Principal of Model Academy also appreciated the efforts put in by Jodhamal School management in bringing the twenty first century education for the kids of Jammu. The programme started with a Dogri folk song-“Taare Tuda Payaan” performed by Jodhamal kids followed by the Punjabi Folk dance- Jagoo Aaiyenyaa..
Shreyansh Bhalotia the President and founder of Vox Populi declared the the Debate Open with his address where in his parents Pawan Kumar Bhalotia and Shweta Bhalotia togehter with the Vice President of Vox Populi were also present.
Trilok Singh Bist the Presiding Guest for the day said that we need the leaders of the future getting prepared via such competitions wherein in a very informal manner we can develop the soft skills among our students and make them rough and tough to face the world the way it comes.
He was happy to see the students from DPS Baramulla and DPS Sopore and Hamid Ansari school kids who came all the way from Kashmir to be a part of this mega event and could face the heat bravely to get future ready to take the reins of this great nation.
The first key note speaker Col. Kapil Dev Kaushal, Principal Sainik School Nagrota gave the tips to the students. He emphasissed the principle of ” Mansa, Vacha , Karmana” as the best leadership style. He was accompanied by his son Mrityunjay who had sung a beautiful song in the cultural evening.
Second key note speaker S.K. Singh, Principal, J K Public School Jammu also gave a pep talk on the practical model of the Leadership wherein he connected the kids to real life situations and very humorously gave them the solutions to the most complex questions in the minds of the students regarding leadership. He talked on the very practical example of eating a chapati and then how many in the august gathering had any knowledge of how much water to be added to the flour to make the chapatis.
As part of the cultural events Nandini Kapoor of Jodhamal mesmerised everyone with her melodious voice, Adab from Baramullah also sang the song ‘Ek Pyar Ka Nagma’ so beautifully and naturally that one could feel that such exposures bring out the best among the students in a very informal atmosphere.
Shaqib Sheikh and his band from Jodhamal along with the little girls from G D Goenka Jammu who sung a beautiful song, gave a mesmerizing performance. Vatsala from JMPS sang a vibrant English number. On the concluding part one of the parent of G D Goenka student Mrs Usha Kher presented a beautiful song on the occasion.
Organizing Secretary Mrs. Radhika Sharma presented the vote of thanks and appreciation to all who had meticulously planned everything to make it a very memorable experience for all the students and their staff members. Present on the occasion were Col Kaushal, Mr. & Mrs. S K Singh, Monika Sethi, VP JMPS, Nandani Bakshi, Coordinator, Radhika Sharma, Shalima Pargal, Shaila Bano, Ranju Malhoitra, Neha Sharma, Poonam Mahajan, Sahil Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Priyanka Verma , Ashok Bharti and Smriti Malhotra etc.
