22 bovines rescued in Kathua

KATHUA: Police on Tuesday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 22 bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
According to a report, on specific information, a police team of Lakhanpur Police Station laid Naka at Golden Gate Lakhanpur and intercepted a truck (JK04A/7930) plying from Punjab to Srinagar carrying 12 bovines. The bovines were rescued however smuggler flee from the spot. A case vide FIR No 10 /2017 under section 188 RPC and 3 PCA ACT was registered at Police Station Lakhanpur.
In another case, Lakhanpur police during a Naka at Old Toll Plaza Lakhanpur seized a truck bearing (JK02AR /3585) and rescued 10 bovines which were loaded in it. Another case vide FIR No 11/2017 under section 188 RPC and 3 PCA ACT was registered. Both the operations were conducted by Insp Kulbir Singh Choudhary SHO Lakhanpur under the supervision of Dysp Kuljeet Singh, Addl Supdt of Police Khalil Poswal and SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar.
