KATRA : Police on Wednesday arrested two persons and recovered 48 pouches of liquor from their possession.
According to a report, a team of police personnel headed by Dr. Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra under the direct supervision of Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP Katra and Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi intercepted two persons namely Nitu Kumar, son of Bapu Ram, and Suraj, son of Rakesh, both residents of Serbad Tehsil Katra District Reasi who were on way to Katra from Serbad side by foot at Serbad Katra.
On their search, police recovered 22 poly pouches of liquor J and K Excise from the possession of Nitu Kumar and 26 poly pouches of liquor J and K Excise from the possession of accused Suraj making in all 48 poly pouches of liquor.
The accused persons have been arrested and recovered liquor has been seized. A case under FIR No.81/2015 Section 48-A Excise Act and 188/RPC was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation is in progress.
