BANIHAL: Police on Wednesday arrested two persons and recovered 684 pouches of liquor from the vehicle in which they were travelling.
According to a report, during Naka checking at Railway T-Chowk National Highway Banihal, a party of Police Police Station Banihal led by Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani stopped a van (JK03D-5649) for checking. During the checking, 684 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from the Van.
Driver of Van identified as Mohd Imran Khan son of Ali Mohd Khan resident of Chakibarwan Tehsil Qazigund District Anantnag and Mushtaq Ahmed son of Abdul Gaffer Ganie resident of Kurigam Qazigund were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 31/2017 under section 48(A) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Banihal.
