Talking to reporters, Gajan Singh thanked the members for trust deposed on him and assured that he would put in all his best efforts to realise the aims of association.
He told that from time to time they met with all the Transport Ministers to apprise them about the actual position of RTO Office and to demand that if Govt. is keen to set up a smooth working in the RTO Office, it should recognise the registered agents, as middleman like other government offices.
He further said that some 10-15 per cent unauthorised agents are working in RTO Office, who are readily engaged in cheating the innocent persons by making false and forged documents, which defames not only the association but the RTO too.
He also said, “These people don’t want clean administration in RTO Office.” However he disclosed that present Transport Commissioner has assured that existing system of allowing registered agents will be restored and modified.
He also suggested that an Association’s Office should be set up in RTO Office Complex like other offices and department where identity of agent is available and customer can easily approach to a genuine person (Regd. agent) so that he may not be cheated by unauthorised agent. In this way every agent will be accountable and will work fairly with dedication.
