SRINAGAR: Acting on specific information about misappropriation of subsidised rice and flour, Kulgam police seized 18 bags of subsidised rice and flour.
During intervening night of December 27-28, 2020, officers at a checkpoint established at DPL Crossing Kulgam intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03-9155 with two persons onboard, who were identified as Aejaz Ahmad Dar and Farooq Ahmad Dar, both residents of Shamispora Bijbhera.
During search of vehicle 12 bags of subsidised rice & 6 bags of subsidised flour were recovered. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Kulgam where they remained under custody. Vehicle used in the crime has also been seized. Accordingly a case vide FIR no. 231/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation in the matter has been initiated.
