BBIA concerned over delay in payments

JAMMU: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) expressed concern over non-release of payments of industrial units in respect of supplies made to different government departments.
BBIA President, Lalit Mahajan raised serious concern in respect of non release of funds of small scale units for the supply of material to PHE, PDD and other government department amounting to Rs. 20 crore since last few months resulting huge financial losses to the industrial units. The unit holders do not have money for the repayment of working capital loans, purchase of raw materials, power supply bills and wages of the workers, he said.
The association members requested Finance Minister, Haseeb A. Drabu and Industries and Commerce Minister, Chander Parkash to intervene into the matter and issue necessary instructions to the concerned departments to clear the pending payments of the industrial units of J and K.
The meeting was also attended by Rahul Bansal, Senior Vice President, Varun Singla, Vice President, Ajay Langer, General Secretary and Viraaj Malhotra, Treasurer.
