1700 animals treated in army vet camp in Poonch

POONCH: In order to overcome the difficulties faced by the poor and under privileged people, Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force made an endeavour to reach out to the poor people in this remote area by organising a veterinary camp at Marhot in Poonch District on Thursday. Veterinary doctors from army as well as Government Veterinary Hospital, Poonch attended to a large number of livestock at the camp. A total of 1,700 animals from various areas of Marhot and neighboring villages were treated on the spot by this team of doctors. People showed keen interest in the camp and brought out their problems and queries which were answered by experts from army and Animal Husbandry Department.
This initiative was greatly appreciated by the local populace especially, the under-privileged people of the remote areas. Gulam Hussain, Sarpanch of Marhot while interacting with media, said that this noble gesture by the army of providing veterinary care to the livestock of people in area clearly shows the concern of our army for the people of the area.
