KATHUA: Expressing seething anger and outrage against the BJP’s persistent despicable pusillanimous surrenders thousands of Panthers Party activists assembled outside the Raj Bhavan (Panjtirthi Chowk) and took out a gigantic ‘Jammu Adhikaar Rally’ in the Jammu city spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State President JKNPP and Yashpal Kundal State President Young Panthers along with senior leaders amid an unprecedented deployment of the security personnel in the city.
The rally after passing through several markets of the heritage city vis-a-vis Dhounthally Bazaar, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Rajtilak Road, Purani Mandi, Super Bazaar, City Chowk, Raghunath Bazaar, Residency Road, Dennis Gate Road, Gummat, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Tawi Bridge, Vikram Chowk culminated at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
They also expressed their solidarity with the nationalist students of NIT Srinagar who were assaulted by the State Police for confronting the anti-nationals raising pro-Pak slogans during the T20 World cup match.
While addressing the mammoth gathering at Gole market, Harsh said that the people of Jammu region had voted BJP to power with a overwhelming mandate in the last Assembly elections.
He added that BJP had once again cowardly surrendered all the Jammu related issues before the Kashmiri leaders to forge a re-alliance with the PDP whereas JKNPP is the only party which had been persistently fighting for the cause of Jammu Pradesh in letter and spirit.
He said that Panthers Party had proven its allegiance to the people by lodging several protests on the Jammu centric issues pertaining to restoration of AIIMS to Jammu, Smart City for Jammu, regularisation of services of daily wagers and contractual employees working in various Govt. Deptts., regularisation of services and release of salaries of ReT teachers, temporary teachers, SPOs, NYC volunteers and other lower rung employees, delimitation of Assembly constituencies, relief and rehabilitation of border residents, adequate compensation for Jammu farmers, one time settlement package for POJK migrants, conferment of State Subject rights to West -Pak refugees, abolition of Custodian Deptt and ownership rights to the occupants, 33 per cent reservation to women in J and K Legislative Assembly, Dogra Certificate for Jammu youth, abolition of interviews of class III and IV posts, inclusion of pre-2009 Ph.D scholars in the PSC interviews for the post of Asstt. Professors, release of teachers select list of Jammu and Udhampur Districts, tenure of B.Ed course in Jammu region at par with Kashmir region, tourism development of Jammu Pradesh, restoration of Dogra pride and honour besides others.
Accusing the BJP for administering obnoxious doze of betrayal to the youth of India and Jammu region in particular, Harsh condemned the unlawful baton charge on the nationalist students who bravely upheld the honour of the ‘Tricolour’ while confronting certain anti-national elements inside the NIT Srinagar campus who celebrated India’s defeat by the Caribbean.
He reiterated his demand for revoking the FIRs against the nationalist students and invoking sedition charges against the felons of Kashmir who had brought disgrace to the nation.
