13th edition of JKMUN-2023 culminated with enthusiasm at JK Public School Kunjwani

JAMMU: The three-day event of JKMUN-2023, held at JK Public School, Kunjwani culminated with great enthusiasm, with participation by 200 delegates from top notched CBSE schools from Jammu, Udhampur, BD Bari and Kathua.
These delegates were gathered here as representatives of different countries and discussed various problems of the world and their solutions. The closing ceremony of this great event took place on Sunday with great enthusiasm.
The participating schools included DPS Udhampur, IDPS Jammu, DBN Amarvilla, Heritage School, Presentation Convent School, Jodhamal Public School, Dogra Higher Secondary School, Birla Open Minds International School, Army Public School Ratnuchak, GD Goenka Public School, KC International School, Doon International School, Rich Harvest School and students from JK Public School Kunjwani as well as a large number of individual participants.
The sessions’ simulation of UNHRC, NATO, AIPPM, Lok Sabha and International Press saw some heated and spirited debates on matters of international and national consequence.
Day 2 of JKMUN saw the young delegates participating wholeheartedly in the conference, as this platform for MUN leaders paved way to discuss ways in which Model United Nations Communities can actively work with the United Nations for the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Global Development. During the JKMUN discussions considered were Lok Sabha, its elections and the slogan was One Nation : One Election. Various political leaders belonging to different political parties expressed their views on the topic of discussion. A lot of heat was generated while eminent political leaders substantiated their stand with extremely relevant & convincing inputs.
The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) represented and protected the Human Rights of all persons in the world. They discussed the rights of women. In-depth study & analysis pertaining to the topic of discussion from the representatives of various countries made the Chair of the committee awe-struck.
The NATO Committee discussed the crisis in the world and how to do away with it. A repeated round of deliberation on the topic, brought forth various solutions from the MUNers.
The whole event was filled with fun and frolic, as it reached the culmination point with a much-awaited “socializing session”. Delegates could be seen enjoying the foot-tapping beats of music. The entire JKPS Kunjwani campus reverberated with jubilations and joy.
Day 3 of the JK MUN-2023 summed up the debates and agenda set forth by all the committees with high commendations. The ceremony concluded with the prize distribution. The award ceremony was a tribute to the fierce debaters, knowledgeable orators and well-read global citizens in whose hands future of the world is depended!
Dignitaries present on the occasion were Member of the Management, Gautam Daluja; Director JK Educational Society Shashi Chaudhary; Principal JK Public School Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore; Vice Principal Roopinder Kour; School Coordinator Inderjeet Kour and Coordinator of Preparatory wing Silvi Agarwal.
Principal JK Public School, Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore shared his insights on the United Nations, its functions and role in maintaining World peace. He also highlighted the importance of MUN as a school activity which not only promotes communicative skills but also plays an important role in holistic development of students. He emphasized the role MUN plays in altering the lives of youth by contributing to their educational and social development as young leaders.
The outstanding delegates were felicitated. The students adjudged as Best delegates were: UNHRC- Aviral Kapoor (Saudi Arabia), NATO Armaan Ali (USA), AIPPM Bhavesh Gupta (Yogi Adityanath), Lok Sabha Rameshwar (Asaduddin Owaisi).
Vidhi Dhallan and Sharaanya Singh Parihar were declared Best photographer and Best journalist respectively.
The Best delegation trophy was bagged by GD Goenka Public School, Jammu.
Finally, the ceremony concluded with final words from distinguished delegates and members of the secretariat team.
