Accused prepared fictitious list of 102 daily workers and subsequently submitted it before Govt for regularisation

JAMMU: After three years of registration of FIR, the Crime Branch wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police charge-sheeted four accused including a Range Officer who were involved in duping over 102 unemployed of huge amount by luring them with a promise to provide jobs in forest department.
These accused had prepared a fictitious list of 102 daily rated workers and subsequently managed its submission before the Administrative Department of Forest for regularisation.
Crime Branch IGP Alok Puri said, “Soon after the submission of the charge-sheet, a Srinagar court rejected their bail applications. All the accused have been lodged in Central Jail, Srinagar.”
According to case history, FIR 2/214 was registered in Crime Branch against Aftab Alam Bhat, son of Abdul Rahman Bhat, resident of House No. 282, Shivpora Srinagar, Junior Assistant Forest Department,  Agrostology Circle, J&K, Ghulam Mohammad Khan, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Khan, resident of Botshah Mohalla Lal Bazar, Agriculture retired Incharge Range officer Forest Department, Arshid Hussain Mir, son of Abdul Khaliq Mir, resident of Kralyar Rainawari, Srinagar, Mohammad Maqbool Mir, son of Abdul Salam Mir, resident of Dhobi Mohalla. Batmaloo, Srinagar, Senior Assistant Forest Research Division Srinagar under offences 420, 468, 471, 120-B RPC for having dishonestly and fraudulently deceived number of unemployed youth under the pretext of providing government jobs to them and after inducing the victims to deliver hefty amounts, have prepared a fictitious list of 102 daily rated workers and subsequently managed its submission before the Administrative Department of Forest for regularization.
The Crime Branch produced charge sheet of the case against these accused persons before the Court at Srinagar. The court rejected their bail applications and all the accused have been sent for judicial determination to Central Jail Srinagar.
