Zoology Deptt of Jammu University carries out sanitation drive

JAMMU: The Department of Zoology, University of Jammu, Jammu started sanitation drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the Zoological Park of the Department, here on Wednesday.
More than 100 students, scholars, non-teaching staff and teaching faculty worked together and participated in various activities like cleanliness, plantation and landscaping of the park.
An awareness campaign was also launched so that the benefits of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan reach to the students in particular and society in general.
Head, Department of Zoology, Prof. Roopma Gandotra gave a lecture on sanitation, personal hygiene and cleanliness which was followed by a short message to the students by Prof. N.K Tripathi.
Prof. J.S. Tara gave special demonstration to the students and scholars regarding proper drainage system for clean and green environment.
Prof. Seema Langer gave work plan and various suggestions to the students regarding benefits of clean and green environment.
Dr. Sanjay Bhatia, Dr. Parvinder Kumar, Dr. Arti Sharma, Dr. Sarabjeet Kour, Dr. Surinder Paul Sharma and Dr. Rajinder Singh were the group leaders of various groups who conducted the cleanliness drive in Zoological Park and adjoining areas.
Manu Malhotra and his team of gardeners and other non teaching employees provided all the tools, material and technical expertise to all the groups.
