SAMBA: To ensure smooth conduct of Assembly elections in the district, District Election Officer, Samba, Mubarak Singh convened a joint meeting of Zonal and Sectoral Magistrates and Zonal and Sector Police Officers on Friday.
General Observer, Samba, General Observer, Vijaypur, SSP Samba, ADC, Samba, Returning Officer, Samba, Returning Officer,Vijaypur, senior officers from civil administration, police and paramilitary forces were also present on the occasion.
District Election Officer while speaking on the occasion stressed the need for better coordination between Zonal and Sectoral Police Officers and Zonal and Sectoral Magistrates for the smooth conduct of the Assembly elections in the district.
He said that the Magistrates shall visit the polling stations, collection centres and routes to acquaint themselves about the area.
DEO further asked the Magistrates to ensure that Model Code of Conduct is not violated during the polling process.
The meeting was informed that there are 259 polling stations in two constituencies, 128 in Samba Constituency and 131 in Vijaypur Constituency. In all 100 polling stations have been identified for web casting, 71 for video and still photography and 1,90,624 voters including 92,278 female voters would exercise their right of franchise on 14th Dec at 259 polling stations.
