SAMBA: The annual meeting of Zila Sainik Welfare Board was held on Wednesday under chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, Tilak Raj Sharma.
Zila Sainik Welfare Board officer Col .S.S Pathania gave resume of the functioning of the board and presented the action taken report of last board meeting and gave details of awareness programmes conducted for increasing coverage of Sainik welfare schemes for the welfare and settlement of ex-servicemen and their dependents.
The ex-servicemen also highlighted the problems like irregular power supply and poor road connectivity in rural areas and pending compensation for crop damage. They also demanded that preference should be given to ex-serviceman and their wards in employment provided by local industries.
The ADC assured that all possible efforts will be made to address issues raised by the members.
He asked ZSWO to nominate nodal officer for each subdivision who can liaise between officials and ex-servicemen regarding various issues faced by them. The meeting among others was attended by Addl SP Raja Adil Hamid, SDM Ghagwal Narayan Dutt Sharma, SDM Vijaypuir Ravinder Sharma and CPO K.K Khajuria.
