Youth Volleyball team leaves for nationals

JAMMU: The state volleyball boys’ team left for Rampur in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday to take part in the 17th Youth National Volleyball Championship to be held from 17th to 22nd January.
The team had undergone 10-days coaching camp from 5th to 14th January, 2015 organised by Volleyball Association of J and K at MA Stadium Sports Complex Jammu. Divisional Sports Officer (J) of J&K State Sports Council Jammu Rajan Sharma wished the team good luck.
International volleyball player and Member of J and K State Sports Council, Rashid Ahmed, who was the Chief Guest, also wished the team for better results in the national championship.
The team is accompanied by Azhar Aziz, Mohd Tariq, Balwinder Singh and Abdul Ahad Shah as officials. Placed in group-D, J and K shall take on Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat and Pondicherry in the league round.
The Team: Sunil Singh, Sanjay Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Anil Kumar (all Jammu district), Danish Altaf (Baramulla), Sandeep Singh, Ankut Kumar, Mohit Kumar (all from district Samba), Rohit Verma (Kathua), Showkat Ahmed (Kulgam), Sanjeev Mehra (Rajouri), Sonu Kumar (Poonch).
