AKHNOOR : A youth identified as Surjit Singh son of Ragubir Singh resident of Kotli Bhagwan Singh, R S Pura jumped into river Chenab from the new Akhnoor Bridge on Wednesday. His body was not recovered till receipt of the last report. According to SHO Akhnoor Pushpinder Singh the youth who came on his motorcycle bearing registration No JK02BF-4394, parked it on the bridge and jumped into the river Chenab to commit suicide. While searching his belongings he was identified as the above person. His body was not traced till late in the evening.
The police have registered the case for investigation.
