SRINAGAR: The ruling government at the Centre has lost the confidence and mandate of the people as well as youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Today the youngsters of Jammu and Kashmir were the worst victim of discriminatory policies of the government. They were feeling let down and betrayed. The arrogance of power and lack of governance has distanced the BJP from its core agenda and people of Jammu and Kashmir have realised the mistake of bringing them to power.
This was stated by Krishna Allavaru, National In-charge of Indian Youth Congress and AICC Jt-Secretary, after launching a ‘Youth Jodo Booth Jodo’ campaign at Srinagar. Jagdev Gaga, National General Secretary Indian Youth Congress , Navneet Kour, Indian Youth Congress Secretary and Uday Bhanu Chib, President J&K Youth Congress also accompanied the National IYC President.
IYC Joint Secretary Manpreet Singh Mani who organised the whole event , in his address, castigated the BJP government, saying that the common man is going through the worst sufferings under the current dispensation, which has sold its soul to few businessmen, ignoring the agonies of the countrymen. He said that the country is presently going through a state of crisis.
“The graph of the inflation is on a constant rise, the fuel prices have touched the sky and unemployment is at peak in the country in which Jammu and Kashmir is among the top of the country. The victims of these three issues are the common men, the countrymen who are the true sons of the soil,” he added.
Mani asserted that there is dire need to connect the youth at the booth level as only youth can bring the change in the politics of J&K. He exhorted upon the party cadre that efforts would be made to get the maximum youth associated with the party. The Congress is keen to reach out to its grassroot workers and activate them for the poll due later this year, he added.
Expressing dismay over the functioning of the proxy government of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, Jagdev Gaga, National General Secretary Indian Youth Congress referred to nepotism and favoritism in the process of selection to various posts and said the scenario is dismal. Apparently referring to alleged backdoor appointments, he said the confidence of meritorious youth have shattered, which calls for course-correction.
Jagdev Gaga said that youth is the backbone of the country and therefore Youth Congress workers have to rise to the occasion to reach out to the youth right upto the grassroots level and address their concerns and issues.
Uday Chib, in his address, said that today there is a dire need to make the youth aware about the achievements made during the Congress rule and at the same time making them understand how the wrong policies of the BJP Government at the Centre have brought endless miseries to them. He assured the national leadership that he would leave no stone unturned in connecting the youth with the Party in coming time and would make all possible efforts in highlighting the anti-youth policies of the BJP led government at the Centre.
