Young Rajouri boy in Indian Volleyball team

JAMMU: After Saqlain Tariq of Poonch and Mannat Choudhary of R S Pura in district Jammu, another young boy from district Rajouri has made it to the Indian Volleyball team.
Kartik Sharma (Raina) of Bagnoti in border district of Rajouri has been selected in the under-18 Indian men’s team for the 14th Asian Volleyball Championship to be held at Tehran in Iran from August 15 to August 22.
Other members of the team included Kush Singh, Shekhar Turan, Aditya Rana, Asish Swain, Patel Dhruvil Nayanbhai, Lavi Kumar, Yaman Kartik, Atul Singh, Abhishek, Kabilan Mahendran and Baliyan Aryan. Officials: Dr Bir Singh Yadav (Head Coach), Dr Shailesh Kumar (Assistant Coach), Jayakuar Nadarajan (Manager) and Mahendra Singh Saharan (Referee).
Earlier, Mannat Choudhary from R S Pura Tehsil of district Jammu became part of the Indian team presently taking part in AVC (Under-20) Cup at Thailand.
Important to mention here that Saqlain was first spiker from J&K to become international and turn professional.
Meanwhile, incharge Rajouri District Volleyball Association, Mohd Tariq expressed his pleasure over selection of young Kartik Sharma (Raina) in the under-18 Indian team. “With his selection, Kartik has become third J&K volleyball player to become an international player after Saqlain Tariq of Poonch and Mannat Choudhary of R S Pura in district Jammu,” said Tariq, who is also chairman of Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh Memorial Volleyball Club.
