JAMMU: “Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.” With this thought-provoking quote, Paras of Grade XII-C led an insightful and deeply reflective morning assembly on the theme “Time Management” at JK Public School, Kunjwani, joined by his classmates.
The assembly resonated with every student and educator present, urging them to reflect on how they spend the most finite resource of all – TIME.

Adding depth to the conversation, Shivansh Sharma, a dynamic speaker from the same class, challenged the audience’s perspective: “Ever looked at the clock and thought, ‘Where did the day go?’ We treat time like an infinite resource, always borrowing from tomorrow. But what if we’re not running out of time? What if we’re leaking it – minute by minute, moment by moment?”
He went on to share eye-opening statistics that made everyone pause and reflect: “On average, we spend 26 years sleeping, 7 years trying to sleep, 6 years on social media, 4 years eating, and an entire year just deciding what to watch next. Let that sink in.”
Shivansh’s candid reflections drew nods of recognition from the audience: “We often say, ‘I don’t have time,’ but it’s rarely about time. More often, it’s about priorities. Time management isn’t simply scheduling your day; it’s about directing your energy, identifying what drains you, and what fuels you. I’ve had days where procrastination stole my time – not because I was lazy, but because I was afraid. Afraid to start, to fail, to be seen. But in that delay, I wasn’t saving time, I was silently draining it.”
Taking the conversation forward, Kankshit offered a balanced perspective: “I’m not saying we all need to become productivity machines. Time management doesn’t mean cramming every second with activity. It means making the moments count – even the quiet ones. It’s about being present, whether you’re working, resting, or simply enjoying life.”
The assembly concluded with words of wisdom from the Principal, JKPS Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore, who commended the presenters for delivering such a thought-provoking session. He stated, “Start small. Identify just three meaningful tasks to accomplish each day. Turn off a single distraction. Say ‘no’ to something that drains your time but adds no value to your spirit. You don’t need a complete life overhaul – just a conscious shift in how you view your time. You can unlock your future by conquering your daily routine.”
The morning assembly didn’t just talk about managing time, it inspired a renewed respect for it. The assembly reached its crescendo with a soulful recital of National anthem.
