JAMMU: Kashmiri Pandits under the banner of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) led by its Chief R.K Bhat on Thursday staged a protest against the vested interests, anti-national and anti-social elements who are working on the behest of Pakistani ISI.
“They are trying again and again to sabotage the return move of Pandits to Valley. Whenever some concrete measures have been assured for Kashmiri Pandits, time and again such negative elements have come out with strong opposition in the name of composite culture,” Bhat said. Why is the move of separate colonies of KPs being opposed despite there are various separate colonies in India on the basis of religion and minority communities, even in Jammu some colonies have been developed by the majority community, he questioned.
YAIKS cautioned the government that no return formula of Kashmiri Pandits will be accepted unless it takes their demands into the consideration.
Their demands include establishment of smart cities for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, declare KPs as Internally Displaced Persons, one time compensation of Rs.25 lakh in favour of over-aged youth of the community, implementation of left over posts out of total 15,000 jobs sanctioned by the Prime Minister in 2008, including the implementation of Court judgment accorded by Division Bench in favour of 221 writ petitioners and PM package employees to be declared at par with other Kashmiri migrant employees till final decision of return and rehabilitation is taken. YAIKS served an ultimatum to the government that if the immediate remedial measures are not taken, they will be forced to accelerate their struggle and will start direct action. Others who addressed the gathering include B.K Bhat-Vice President, Manoj Handoo-General Secretary, Ajay Safaya and Sanjay Ganjoo-Secretaries, Deepak Koul, Rakesh Fotadar, Ajay Raina, Anil Handoo, Sunil Dhar, Ramesh Kumar, Ajay Koul, Sunil Bhat and Ajay Chaman.
