XEn, AEE PHE Sitlee Plant attached for ‘misappropriation’ of cement

JAMMU: Following the seizure of 200 cement bags at Nagrota TCP on Tuesday, the government on Wednesday attached Executive Engineer, PHE City Division-I, Jammu and Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE Sub-Division Sitlee with the office of Chief Engineer PHE.
These bags were meant for repairing work at Sitlee PHE plant. However, these were being transported to Srinagar. Two brothers were arrested and their truck was seized by police.
A three member committee headed by Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Jammu has been asked to probe the matter and submit its report within 15 days.
Meanwhile, according to an order issued by Secretary PHE, I&FC department, Executive Engineer, PHE City Division-I, Jammu Rajinder Kumar Sharma and Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE Sub-Division Sitlee, Sunil Seth, pending enquiry against them have been attached with the Chief Engineer, PHE department Jammu with immediate effect.
Consequent upon their attachment, Executive Engineer, PHE Division-II, Jammu, Varinder Kumar Khajuria, and AEE, PHE Sub-Division Bakshi Nagar Anil Sharma have been asked to hold the charge of PHE City Division-1, Jammu and PHE Sub-Division Sitlee respectively in addition to their own duties till further orders.
The inquiry committee constituted for the purpose includes Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Jammu Rajinder Kumar Gupta and Executive Engineer, Technical Officer to Chief Engineer, RTIC Jammu K.K Badyal.
