KATRA: Wrestler Paula of Himachal Pradesh defeated Wrestler Murad Ali of Domana Akhara Jammu in the main bout that lasted for 32 minutes in the 17th Annual Dangal held at Trentha in District Reasi.
General Manager, NHPC Salal Power Station Jyotipuram, A.G Ansari contributed Rs 10,000 as financial assistance to the organisers.
Dangal was organised by Trentha Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association (JKISWA) under the overall supervision of President JKISWA, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Shahccl Magray.
Winner of the main bout was awarded with cash prize of Rs 6,000 by Chief Guest, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Shahccl Magray while runner-up wrestler Murad Ali awarded with cash prize of Rs 5,000 by Advocate Pawan Dev Singh and Sub-Inspector Vishal Manhas. In all 57 bouts were played in this one day long Dangal.
The second main bout was won by Sherru of Jaipur in Rajasthan who defeated Sagar of Delhi, third bout was won by Herbind of Banaras who defeated Javed of Meerut and fourth bout was won by Gujjar of Delhi who defeated Chinni of Banaras.
Members and Technical officials who helped for the conduct of this one day wrestling event included Shahccl Magray, Ashok Kumar, Chanchal Singh, Varinder Kumar, Onkar Singh, Gian Chand, Kulbir Singh, Madan Lal, Capt. (Retd.) Leher Soingh, Deepak Wazir, Mohd. Fareed, Rajinder Kumar Ramotra, Dheeraj Kesar, Kartar Singh and Murli Dhar (Munna).
In the end, President of Trentha Dangal Committee Shahccl Magray presented vote of thanks.
