Wrestler Kamaljeet from Punjab wins Seswan Dangal title

KATHUA: ‘Hind Kesari’ title holder wrestler Kamaljeet from Punjab, who participated in over 20 international wreslting events, won the trophy of Annual Seswan Wrestling Competition organised in the premises of ancient Lord Shiva Temple near here on Monday.
The competition, which attracted enthusiastic crowd of more than thirty thousand people, was organised by Kewal Krishan Sangra, popularly known as Munnu Master, who has been organising Seswan Dangal since last several years out of his own resources without any assistance from the government.
Dr Bharat Bhushan, KAS, was the Chief Guest who declared the competition open.
Prof. Ram Krishan Sharma, SDM Hiranagar, Suresh Sharma, Tehsildar Marheen, Jatinder Singh, SDPO Border, Raghuvir Singh, SHO Sarabjeet Singh and Ganesh Dutt Sharma, former Chief Accounts Officer were the Guests of Honour on the occasion.
Yakesh Singh Sarpanch, Sat Paul Sangra, Brahm Dutt Sangra and Parveen Sharma of Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority assisted the competition in which wrestlers from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and J&K participated.
Some wrestlers who had represented at national and international levels also took part in wrestling.
Harry-the international wrestler especially came from Canada to participate in the event which was marked by around fifty wrestling competitions in which the wrestlers showed their vigour and talent. The main attraction of this Dangal was a competition between two differently-abled wrestlers namely Rakesh Kumar of Chann Lal Din and Cobra Gang Pehlwan of Domana Akhara.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, appreciated the gesture of Master Kewal Krishan Sangra of regularly organising Seswan Dangal. He said that wrestling promotes good health and keeps youth away from bad habits. He also honoured organiser Master Kewal Krishan Sangra, Referee of the event Sardari Lal Sharma and winners of the Dangal.
The winner of main bout was given cash award of Rs 1 lakh by the organiser.
A large number of makeshift shops and stalls of sweets and children play-way equipments were also centre of attraction. The participants also offered prayers in the ancient Aap Shambu Temple.
