World Yoga Day observed at Dogra College

JAMMU: Dogra College of Education observed Yoga Day on Monday with great enthusiasm and fervor.
About 150 students participated to learn about the various Aasanas being demonstrated by Yoga expert from the Sports and Physical Education Department, University of Jammu, Sanjeev Sharma who was the resource person on the occasion.
Sharma firstly briefed about the importance of Yoga in our daily life and added that according to United Nation General Assembly resolution, the goal of Yoga Day is the dissemination of information about the benefits of practicing Yoga which would be beneficial for the health of world population. The various Aasanas demonstrated by Kumar included Surya Namaskaar, Taad Aasan, Bajjar Aasan, Variksha Aasan, Shav Aasan etc.
Prof. B.D Damral, Director, Dogra College of Education emphasised that Yoga has the power to bring entire mankind together.
He added that Yoga means Union and it is a very powerful source to unite the people of the world.
Shefali Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education also talked about the benefits of Yoga and said that Yoga is a practical Aid and its techniques may be practiced by all.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were S.C Khajuria, Director Administration, Dogra educational Trust, Dr. Gurmeet Kour, Principal Dogra Law College, Bela Thakur, Academic coordinator of the College.
The vote of thanks was presented by Poonam Gupta, Senior Lecturer of the College.
