SUNDERBANI: World Population Fortnight 2022 was inaugurated on Monday at SDH Sunderbani. The programme was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Rajouri Dr Hamid Zarger. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani Vinod Benhal, Deputy Cheif Medical Officer Dr Anis and DDC Chairman Siot Balkrishan were also present at the event. The event was organised as per the directions of Director Health Services Jammu Dr Saleem Ur Rehman. Addressing the gathering Chief Medical Officer Dr Hamid Zarger said that our focus is to create awareness about the negative impacts of growing population on the society & on country. The world population fortnight will be conducted and observed in two phases from June 27 to July 10 for community mobilisation and second phase from July 11 to 24 for stabilisation activities. During the month various awareness programme would be conducted at different institutional level with the collaboration of PRIs as told BMO Sunderbani during his address. To conclude the programme a public procession was carried from SDH Sunderbani to Main Market sunderbani. CMO Rajouri himself led the rally with banners and posters carried by health staff for general public awareness for population control.
