JAMMU : World Disability Day -2014 was celebrated on Wednesday in the auditorium of IIIM, Canal Road Jammu under Inclusive Education for Disabled Children (IED) a component of Sarva Shisksha Abhiyan (SSA). The function organised by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu was presided over by S.A Leharwal, State Project Director SSA/RMSA and R.A Inqlabi Director School Education Jammu was the Chief Guest. Disabled children from different government and Special Schools Jammu participated and exhibited cultural programme displaying skits, dances, songs and other creative activities.
During his address Director of School Education appreciated various items presented by the children and encouraged them to continue such activities. He also announced cash prizes in favour of outstanding participants.
CEO Tarsem Lal urged the community to cooperate with these differently abled children, particularly the parents of such children to encourage them for exploring their hidden talent.
