This refers to the selection of the Indian team for the cricket World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand. Although the selectors have picked up the best possible 15 players, the team, barring a few players, is short on experience and preparedness. Hence, defending champion India will need to put up a determined effort if it has to have any chance of regaining the World Cup. Before the 2007 World Cup, people in India had high expectations from the Indian team, but the latter was knocked out in the early round. Taking into account the recent form of the Indian players, things do not look rosy.
