Workshop on TEQIP-III conducted by MHRD in GCET

JAMMU: National Project Investigation Unit, Delhi (MHRD) conducted two days orientation workshop on 11 and 12th August, 2017 at Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu for the improvement of overall standard and quality of Technical Institutes in Central, Eastern and North Eastern Regions and various hill stations (Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand).
The workshop was conducted in presence of Dr Prakash C Kuniyal, Ruplai Jha, Prateek Kandulina consultants from National Project Investigation Unit, Delhi.
Dr. Sameru Sharma, Principal Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu welcomed all the dignitaries and esteemed guests on the inaugural ceremony of the Workshop.
She briefed about the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) and discussed about TEQIP-Ill which will be implemented as a Central Sector Scheme in the current year and will be completed in a phased manner by 2020. She emphasised that the implementation of TEQIP-Ill will certainly bridge the gap between the developed technical Institutes and the developing technical institutions.
The workshop was attended by TEQIP Coordinators and Nodal Officers from 22 Institutions across India besides faculty and Staff Members of GCET. During the Workshop, the action plan, procurement plan and the issued related to the efficient implementation of the project was discussed and reviewed by NPIU officials.
On the valedictory function of the Workshop, the Principal, GCET expressed her thanks to MHRD, Higher Education Department and the World Bank for providing various J&K institutes like GCET Jammu, BGSBU, Rajouri, IUST Kashmir and SMVDU, Katra this opportunity to enrol under TEQIP-Ill.
