JAMMU: Natraj Natya Kunj (NNK) Cultural Society Jammu started month-long workshop for playwrights and directors here on Sunday.
The workshop was inaugurated by Kumar ‘A’ Bharti, Dr. Rajinder Thappa Advisor NNK, R.C Magotra, Jagdeep Dubey and Baljeet Raina at Studio Ranglok. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Abhishek Bharti. In the workshop, writers of different languages i.e, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Dogri and Gojri participated.
During the workshop, the participants discussed the latest techniques and problems being faced in present scenario of theatrical presentations. This workshop was sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu.
President NNK, Kumar A Bharti said that a total of 20 writers and directors will participate in this workshop and will pen down there play scripts about burning problems of the society. On the concluding week of workshop, these scripts will be read and reviewed by senior theatre critics. Best play scripts chosen among all the scripts will be staged by the Natraj Natya Kunj.
Noted writer of the State, Jagdeep Dubey said, “We want to enable writers to create the best entertaining, challenging and profound work. We want the writers to work from conception to production.” Senior Writer, Dr Baljeet Raina and Theatre Director, Ravinder Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
Shashi Bhushan, Ravinder Sharma, Aaditya Bharti, Rajinder Thapa, R.C Mangotra, Dr. Baljeet Raina, Jagdeep Dubey, Rajnish Gupta, Prof. Shalini, O.P Shakir, Rakesh Dogra, Makhan Lal, Rohit Bains and Sandeep Manhas were also present.
